Addressing carbon emissions for the 23rd ARRB conference
In order to continue this theme for the 23rd ARRB conference, ARRB will be actively promoting energy efficiency by:
-
conducting all communication between delegates, speakers and sponsors via email to reduce the amount of paper utilised
printing all paper documentation, such as programs, abstracts booklets etc., on recycled paper
-
promoting travel using public transport to conference attendees by
-
promoting the use of the Adelaide Metro tramline (FREE between Victoria Square and the Adelaide Railway Station) and the FREE City Loop bus (99C)
-
providing travel smart maps for those wishing to explore Adelaide during your stay.

Here’s how you can help:
- If you are travelling by air, the Adelaide airport is only 7 km from Adelaide’s CBD. The suggested accommodation venues are situated directly opposite to the Adelaide Convention Centre so that you can help the environment and yourself by walking to and from the Centre to your accommodation.
- Adelaide Metro’s tramline is FREE to ride between the Adelaide Railway Station and South Terrace. Visitors to the 23rd ARRB conference are encouraged to use this service, along with your travel smart maps, to explore Adelaide.
- The FREE City Loop bus (99C) service runs every 15 minutes in both directions. The 99C City Loop services take you on a loop around the City taking in the Museum, State Library, Art Gallery, Royal Adelaide Hospital, Botanic Gardens, Rundle Street (East End), Tandanya, the Central Markets, the Hindley Street precinct and the Universities.
- By accepting to pay an optional extra on the conference registration form, you will provide valuable funds towards offsetting the carbon emissions utilised in attending this conference. All funds will be forwarded to Carbon Neutral, a ‘not for profit’ organisation whose mission is to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by:
- Planting trees and establishing permanent forest sinks and
- Educating and encouraging organisations and individuals to minimise their emissions.
