Summer Internship Program 2011/2012

Part of ARRB’s commitment to developing sustainable research expertise starts before researchers graduate through the Summer Intern Program. This program involves approximately 12 weeks of paid employment through the summer, and is open to undergraduate students at Australian universities. Typically these students will be Civil or mechanical engineers, but other disciplines of engineering and science students are welcome to apply, if you have a passion for transportation.

At ARRB we take the view that administrative work (filing!) is not in our or the intern’s best interests. Interns are typically given a small development project of their own or a well-defined discrete task within an existing project for one of our clients. They are provided with a Senior, Principal or Chief Scientist or Engineer as a technical mentor, but the responsibility for delivery rests with them.

We match successful applicants to their interests as expressed in their application and in the subsequent interview. Placements however depend on the availability of work within particular disciplines, and on the availability of appropriate technical mentors to supervise interns.

If you have an above average academic record, and have a curiosity about the science behind transportation, please lodge an application by sending a letter of application, a resume and latest academic transcript to recruit@arrb.com.au

Applications for the 2011/12 program close 31st August 2011. Vacancies for interns in the 2011/12 program exist in our Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney offices.
