Car Drivers – What do you think of roads in South-West Victoria?

ARRB (formerly the Australian Road Research Board) would like a number of drivers to complete a 60 km road circuit in the Winchelsea/Birregurra area.  This will form part of a survey assessing road surfaces, condition and travel.  The car used will be an automatic Subaru Outback.  The circuit will take approximately 50 minutes to complete.
(The work complements a similar study recently completed with truck drivers.)

The circuit will contain road sections of different lane and shoulder widths and a range of good and poor road surface conditions.

The need to have a reasonable number of drivers is critical to the sound outcome of this work.

This is great opportunity for local drivers to have their say on the standard of road conditions and other levels of service provided by the road authorities.

  • Are you an experienced car driver?
  • Would you like to drive the circuit in the Winchelsea area to provide valuable feedback on road and access conditions to the road authorities?
  • Drivers will be asked to drive one circuit in the automatic Subaru Outback.

Test days will be selected to suit driver preferences, but we hope to conduct the drives, one circuit per driver, on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays throughout August.
