Vulnerable Road Users – Infrastructure Solutions Online Training Series

Written by : Australian Road Research Board

In this five part webinar series, each session will be dedicated to one vulnerable road user group, and their likely infrastructure solutions. This series will be presented by ARRB's own Paul Hillier.

In session 1 he will set the scene, discussing who the main vulnerable road user groups are, and then move on to infrastructure solutions, and the need to plan ahead.

Session 2 will discuss pedestrian issues and infrastructure solutions.

Sessions 3 and 4 will focus on cyclists, and motorcyclists.

In the final session, Paul will look at future considerations, from emerging VRUs, and drinking / drug taking, then driverless vehicles and conclude with a recap of the series.

The course consists of 5 weekly live webinar sessions. Sessions are also recorded and recordings are provided immediately following the session for those who perhaps can’t make it to every session. Each session has a component to be completed back in the workplace and this may involve a short quiz, activities, reading materials and participation in discussion boards online.
