2020 Gala Dinner off, National Transport Research Awards to be held virtually

The 2020 ARRB Gala Dinner planned for Melbourne in November has been postponed.

Unfortunately, the uncertainty around COVID-19 restrictions for large gatherings in Victoria means we have decided not to proceed. There are plans to revive the ARRB Gala Dinner some time in 2021 once the situation allows.

However, the 2020 National Transport Research Awards – usually held in conjunction with the Gala Dinner - will go ahead with a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday, November 19.

ARRB believes that even though we cannot come together physically to celebrate, it is more important than ever to recognise the great work that has been done in Australia’s roads, transport and mobility sector during the most challenging of years.

Nominations for the National Transport Research Awards 2020 are now open.

They will recognise and celebrate research excellence across the transport sector. Winning an NTR Award reflects talent across the transport industry and leadership in shaping our transport future.
