by Australian Road Research Board on August 3, 2016

5th International SaferRoads Conference
21 - 24 May 2017, Auckland, New Zealand

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION NOW OPEN

New Zealand is hosting the 5th International SaferRoads Conference at the Viaduct Basin on the spectacular Auckland waterfront, from May 21-24, 2017. Run every three years, the conference brings together industry experts and practitioners whose focus is finding ways to improve the performance, sustainability, safety and reliability of the global road surface network.

Beginning with a focus on skid resistance this international event has grown to be a forum to promote the diverse range of activities associated with road and runway surfaces, and the role they play in safety.

In broadening the scope our aim is to attract a wide range of road owners, practitioners and those associated with maintaining and operating road networks. We also want to include those involved in the development of vehicle tyre and road interface and find better ways to improve the performance, sustainability, safety and reliability of the global road surface network.

A critical part of the success of previous conferences has come from active involvement from our industry leaders. The benefit of having road owners, practitioners, research centres and those associated with maintaining and operating road networks presenting their research and findings cannot be underestimated.

Abstracts on all aspects of Road Safety are welcome, however, we encourage abstracts that relate to the following key themes:

  • Road Safety
  • People
  • Monitoring & Measurement & Technologies
  • Innovation and Future Advancements
  • Technical & Techniques
  • Asset Management, Policies and Governance
  • Sustainability
  • Quality, Value for Money & Potential Liability
