80th Birthday for Max Lay

by Australian Road Research Board on October 18, 2016

Dr Max Lay AM, former Executive Director of ARRB and member of the ARRB Hall of Fame recently celebrated his 80th birthday.

To mark this milestone, and to honour Max’s leadership in transport information sharing which laid the foundation for the national and international work that ARRB’s MG Lay Library continues today, a small gathering was held with some former and current ARRB staff.  Three of the four Executive/Managing Directors of ARRB since its foundation, Max Lay, Ian Johnston AM and Gerard Waldron were present (Des Glynn now deceased) as well as a total of 5 members of ARRB’s Hall of Fame.
