Dr Grenfell appointed new Director-at-Large of ISAP

Dr James Grenfell, Senior Pavement Engineer, Pavement Technology at the Australian Road Research Board, has recently been elected as a Director-at-Large of the Board of the International Society of Asphalt Pavements (ISAP)

"I am proud to have been elected to the Board of Directors of the ISAP as a Director-at-Large. This role is a reflection of my work within asphalt research and I am looking forward to promoting various aspects of asphalt research." says Dr Grenfell.

Dr Grenfell's appointment with further enhance ARRB’s reputation across the globe.

"This will allow me to share ARRB’s groundbreaking research across the wider pavement community. ISAP will also offer their support to ARRB's initiatives and conferences and the role will allow me to represent and promote the Australian asphalt pavement technologist’s perspective internationally." he went onto say.

The duration of Dr Grenfell's appointment to this prestigious position is a 3-year term. He joins a board of other highly esteemed directors and is amongst distinguished company.

The ISAP was formed in 1987 following the 6th International Conference on the Structural Design of Asphalt Pavements, held at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The Asphalt Institute was a major ‘founding father’ for the society. The principal objective was to provide an organization which could take responsibility for continuing this prestigious series of conferences.
