Emotional drivers pose highest safety risk, new research finds

EMOTIONAL drivers pose a higher road safety risk than any other form of driver distraction including mobile phones and roadside advertising, new research has found.

The study of more than 1000 Australians found two in five have had a collision or near collision as a result of driver distraction, with 45 per cent of those saying their mind was elsewhere as a result of being tired, stressed, angry or sad.
