Victorian Auditor-General's report on maintaining Council local roads

Councils cannot determine whether they are getting value for money in maintaining their local roads.

That’s among the findings of a new Victorian Auditor-General's report.

Key recommendations made to all Victorian councils in the report include improving the information used for road maintenance planning, and collecting and reporting accurate performance data.

ARRB assisted with the investigation. Its Best Practice Guides for sealed and unsealed roads were important resources in putting the final report together.

ARRB has the expertise and state-of-the-art tools to assist Victorian local government authorities with their maintenance planning, data collection and asset management of their roads.
