Roadside Safety Design Online Training Series

In this four part webinar series, we look at roadside safety. We will identify the types of roadside hazards that are present, examine the type and mode of crashes occurring on roadsides, and their treatments both barrier and non-barrier. Concluding the series will be a step-by-step procedure for the design of barrier systems and some worked examples to demonstrate the application of the procedures.

Peter Aumann & Noel O'Callaghan

Peter Aumann, has been involved in the design and management of roads and roadsides for over 30 years. In recent times Peter has been extensively involved in the review and update of the Austroads design guides, particularly geometric design, roadside design and drainage.

Noel O'Callaghan has over 40 years’ experience in road design. He has been a member of the Austroads Road Design Task Force, and the Safety Barrier Assessment Panel, with considerable input into the Road Design Guides.
