Bridge Inspection Level 1

A two-day workshop for those involved with the routine maintenance inspection of bridge structures and culverts.

The workshop aims to assist participants develop skills to conduct the Level 1 inspection and complete the Level 1 inspection report form, on which to base the required maintenance intervention.

Level 1 inspections are a routine maintenance inspection, to check on the general serviceability of the structure and its surroundings; the road approaches and stream. This excludes the rating of individual members or overall bridge condition which is applicable to Level 2 inspections.

The training will cover timber, steel and concrete structures, if available.

Presenters

Joshua Seskis

Joshua Seskis Josh is an experienced Senior Asset Engineer, Bridges and Structures, specialising in the delivery of professional asset management services to various clients. His skills include the management and delivery of Level 1 and Level 2 inspection contracts and has been involved in the inspection of over 1500 structures in the last two years. Josh is actively involved in Austroads and NACOE research projects in fields such as deterioration of structures, load rating/ assessment and optimisation of servicing regimes.

Robert Meiklejohn

Robert Meiklejohn Robert is an experienced Engineer, Bridges and Structures, specialising in the delivery of professional asset management services to the private and public sector. His skills include the management and delivery of Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 inspection contracts and he has been involved in the inspection of over 600 structures since joining ARRB. Robert is actively involved in structures asset management research projects, notably with Austroads and TMR’s NACOE Program.
