ARRB’s Future Transport Technology team was among the estimated 200,000 visitors who attended the 2019 Avalon Airshow.
The Airshow was run in conjunction with the Australian Association for Unmanned Systems (AAUS) Conference, which featured ARRB’s involvement in an official capacity. Our own Dr Charles Karl - Principal Technology Leader, Future Transport Technology at ARRB – presented on Preparing for Future Land Transport as part of the conference’s theme of Exploring An Unmanned Future.
Dr Karl’s presentation included sharing ARRB’s experience in the automated vehicles space, like our work with ConnectEast on connected and automated vehicle trials.
The entire team also witnessed first-hand the latest developments and exhibits at the Avalon Airshow, including ADVI partner AOS Group’s unmanned surveillance vehicle used by the Australian Department of Defence to assess perimeter violations – called the Kelpie.
