ARRB releases an Asset Management Systems Review for Local Government

ARRB has released a national report on Asset Management Systems to assist our members with making informed decisions.

The challenge for Local Government in today’s asset management systems supply world is that arguably there is too much choice and availability. There is a constant battle to ensure that the organisation is making best use of available systems and funding to ensure that value for money is delivered to the community, which is the ultimate client both from an asset service delivery perspective, and as the funders of the agency through annual rates.

ARRB in its role as the trusted advisor on roads and transport, and in the national interest of ARRB’s members, undertook this technical review and assessment. It is anticipated that the outcomes of this process will:

  • assist local government to better identify which system, or systems, may be capable of meeting their requirements, in circumstances where a systems-related solution is sought
  • assist industry in understanding market needs and how they might target or develop their offerings
  • provide evidence of the level of asset management system functionality and support sought in the Australian marketplace.
