ARRB Wins IPWEAVic Award for Excellence

ARRB was proud to accept the IPWEAVic Award for Excellence – Asset Management, on Wednesday night at the 2014 IPWEAVic Gala Dinner. ARRB received the award for the implementation of Hawkeye Automatic Crack Detection (ACD) technology into asset management practices in Victoria.

The introduction of Automated Crack Detection (ACD) into the service offerings through the ARRB data collection fleet has had a significant impact on the way which cracking on road surfaces is detected. Using the latest laser technology, the cracking devices are able to identify cracks within parameters set by the client. Through a variety of projects which ARRB has completed over the past year, there has been significant steps in the acceptance of automated crack detection within Australia.

The implementation of this system required advanced work from ARRB’s Development team to ensure that the system worked seamlessly with the current ARRB Hawkeye platform. This was paramount to the equipment operating to the requirements set by each client. ARRB’s data collection and development teams worked closely with the asset management team to ensure that the outputs of the technology was practicable from an asset management perspective.
