ARRB called upon to give evidence at severe weather roads inquiry

ARRB Chief Executive Officer Michael Caltabiano has given evidence to the Australian House of Representatives’ Standing Committee's Inquiry into the implications of severe weather events on the regional, rural and remote road network.

Michael’s evidence focused on:

▪ Infrastructure measurement
▪ Next generation materials
▪ New maintenance approaches
▪ Decarbonisation

ARRB has been helping all levels of government around Australia and New Zealand measure the effects of severe weather events such as recent flooding on road networks.

ARRB's Intelligent Pavement Assessment Vehicles (iPAVE), survey vehicles and expertise have been utilised by State and local government to help kickstart the post-flood recovery of our roads, and look at ways to build back better roads.
