Under the WARRIP program, Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) engaged the Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) to undertake a multi-year program to deliver a Traffic Speed Deflectometer (TSD) data-based network level pavement structural deterioration model.

The webinar will cover the methodology and outcomes of a parametric analysis used in determining the governing pavement distress parameters that can identify potential rehabilitation site candidates within MRWA road network.

The first part of the project involved a parametric analysis to determine the governing pavement distress modes and other parameters that identify, either independently or together, rehabilitation candidate sites using road segment samples from the MRWA road network. This involved a hierarchical approach to the rehabilitation road segment samples where the road segment samples were analysed as a network as well as separated into various sub networks.

The analysis pin-pointed localised distressed 100 m segments using set intervention criteria to identify segments in poor condition from their adjacent nominated rehabilitation segments. A multivariate binary logistic regression (MVLR) was conducted to identify and test several combination of distress modes to determine the distress modes and other parameters that can identify potential rehabilitation site candidates.
