ABC talks driverless trucks with ADVI

The introduction of automated freight haulage by road faces challenges in Australia, ADVI Executive Director and ARRB’s SA leader Rita Excell has told the ABC.

Ms Excell says for vehicle automation to thrive in Australia, line markings and telecommunications need improvement, especially in regional and rural areas.

"There is lifesaving technology on vehicles like trucks that are sold today that can't operate because of our deficient infrastructure in regional areas."
